Watercolor

2019

With the concept of ‘Time’ I thought of how I could incorporate the literal sense and how I have approached time through my art. A year ago I put together a series of watercolor paintings that were boarded by words of text. I really wanted to hone in on how I was feeling about myself and my art practice. At this time, I was really conflicted by what art I was making, and who I was making it for. I realized that I had neglected why I began to create art in the first place, and that was for myself. A year later I am still slowly adding to this series, and even if the narrative has shifted slightly, I can see with time I have become more comfortable with myself and my practice. I chose to work with landscapes to give me an environment to escape to, and text that I gave for my thoughts to have a voice with the paintings. Times is important through these works because it shows that not only style and skills, but also headspace and perspective change throughout time.

The main place of media I work on is Instagram.
